Ariana Grande is an amazing vocalist, but her music does not showcase her voice. She needs to go more of a Chloe x Halle route with her music and do more RnB with actual challenging melodies to show off what she can do. We know sis can sing, but a three note repeating melody line isn’t giving me what I need from her.

Male artists are allowed to be sub par regardless of their genre. Whereas female artists must be serving vocals or body or choreo unless they are in a more indie genre or their voices are heavily laced with autotune in a pop setting.

Yes, I am nervous about this new Lorde album. Melodrama was my top two of 2017 tied with After Laughter by Paramore. People (me) are gonna compare It to her last album because it was just that good. I really hope it lives up to the hype because personally I wasn’t impressed by her first two singles.
